Dr. K CBD

All of our DR.K CBD products go through rigorous cannabinoid testing and the highest standards of quality control.

Our lab testing techniques are utilised to ensure that all critical attributes - taste, colour, potency, purity, and cannabinoid containment - are all of the highest standard and consistency.

Aside from our internal testing we ensure we publish third party testing to offer customers the greatest confidence in the quality of our products.

Third-Party Cannabinoid Testing

We use gas-chromatography mass-spectrometry (GCMS) techniques to consistently analyse the quality of our products. We test for the containment of various cannabinoids, as well as terpenes, heavy metals, toxins, pesticides, and microbial contamination. Our products undergo third-party cannabinoid testing to ensure accuracy and clarity across our entire CBD range.

We use Eurofins third-party laboratory cannabinoid testing: the leading global scientific experts in hemp and CBD analysis and verification [1]. This ensures we deliver the safest, highest quality hemp and CBD products to our customers.

The ISO accredited testing laboratories adhere to AOAC, USP, Compendial, FDA, USDA, and client-directed methods [1]. This provides us with the opportunity to use the latest innovative technologies which consistently ensure the quality, safety, and integrity of all of our products.

Gas-Chromatography Mass-Spectrometry is an analytical method which identifies the different substances within a test sample. This technique will identify all of the different cannabinoids and substances within a product, including: CBD, THC, THCV, CBDA, CBGA, d9-THC, d8-THC, THCA-A, CBDV, CBC, CNB, CBG, and more [2]. This ensures that every product that reaches our shelf has been analysed and verified for cannabinoid consistency, will contain at least 85% CBD (cannabidiol), and 0% THC (tetrahydrocannabinol).

Gas-chromatography mass-spectrometry (GC-MS) uses solvents including chloroform, hydrochloric acid, alcohol, methanol, and acetone of an analytical grade. The process of GC-MS requires extensive sample preparation, involving heating a solution in a gas chromatography vial in order to evaporate the solvent, before being dissolved in ethanol [2]. Following this, a process which combines gas chromatography and mass spectrometry will take place.

GC is a common method used in analytical chemistry for separating and analysing compounds that can be vaporised without decomposition. This method is typically used for testing the purity of a substance, and identifying the individual components.

MS is an analytical technique that measures the mass-to-charge ratio on ions. This method is used in many different fields to analyse both pure samples as well as complex mixture. It allows scientists to determine the elemental or isotopic signature of a sample, and identify the molecular structure and the chemical identity, including other chemical compounds.

In GC-MS, the combination of both of these analytical methods allows for the identification of a compound at a higher resolution than you would achieve using either one of these methods alone.

Why Do We Need To Test Our CBD Products?

It is important that we analytically examine our products via a third-party laboratory to ensure that the active ingredients and cannabinoids meet industry standards for safety and quality control, as well as our own business standards.

Accurate analysis of CBD products is essential to ensure they meet required levels of quality and potency and there are no safety concerns in respect to pesticides, mycotoxins, heavy metals and microbial contamination. (approved logo, trust factor, quality and business standards)

It allows us to provide our customers with the confidence that all products meet industry standards for quality. Additionally, it allows us to provide our customers with lab reports that identify and name all of the active cannabinoids in a product.
